Proposed Prohibition of Waiting Various Roads, Moel Famau Country Park
Why are we doing this?
Denbighshire County Council is proposing to introduce a Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which will be a Prohibition of Waiting along a 3.1km stretch of both sides of Bwlch Pen Barras, and one adjacent side road.

Why are we doing this?
Moel Famau Country Park is an important destination within Denbighshire. The peak of Moel Famau is one of Denbighshire’s best-known hills and attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Over recent years, inconsiderate and dangerous parking along Bwlch Pen Barras has caused problems for local residents and businesses, as well as required extensive use of Council and Police resources to manage. Erosion caused by problem parking is also causing environmental damage in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. These problems have been exacerbated at peak times including on bank holidays, in favourable weather and more recently as a result of changed travelling/holidaying habits due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Along with problem parking in Eryri (Snowdonia), problem parking at Moel Famau has made national headlines. The Council is keen to ensure the issues are addressed and that local residents and businesses feel safe and that visitors can safely enjoy the Country Park.
What do we want to know?
In addition to increasing car parking capacity at Moel Famau over the last 12 months, the proposed Prohibition of Waiting has been developed following discussions with local residents and in consultation with local councillors and North Wales Police. Everyone is welcome to provide their observations and objections, and the Council is particularly keen to understand the views of local residents and businesses with regards to the proposed Prohibition of Waiting.
